Measurements: W 60 x H 182 x D 3 Price: confidential negotiation Object accompanied by a certificate of authenticity This pair of tempera paintings on paper was made in Piedmont during the Neoclassical period, towards the end of the 18th century. Each painting, with a blue-grey background, is decorated with elements reminiscent of grotesques, characteristic of Neoclassicism, painted in grisaille, i.e. using shades of whites and greys to simulate bas-relief sculptures in marble or stucco. At the center of each painting stands a classic vase decorated with garlands and frames with vegetal elements, grips with goat heads with long horns. The vase is adorned with a floral decoration surmounted by a long vertical element that simulates a riser. Foliated garlands intertwine along the axis, in the center of which ovoid bas-reliefs are represented. The base of the riser, of classic and circular taste, supports two swans with spread wings and ends with a small circular baccellated element. In the lower portion of the vase is depicted a horizontal element that supports a precious folded fabric, decorated with filigree and trimmings at the edges, behind which a flowering garland stands out. These two particular paintings are very decorative and elegant and are suitable for being exhibited even next to other works in any environment, even inside boiserie. Very beautiful in copy, interspersed with other decorative objects, placed above seats, consoles, chests of drawers, in living rooms, studies, bedrooms, corridors and entrances. Conceptually very modern, and suitable both next to antique and contemporary furniture. In good condition, the paintings are presented by wooden panels and framed by a white lacquered molding.
